License to Carry
This class is the first step in obtaining your License to Carry in the State of TX. Handgun and concealed carry fundamentals, TX law as well as home defense with be discussed in 4-6 hours of classroom instruction. Qualification shooting at a gun range is also required, an outside company of your choosing will perform a background check and fingerprinting. I may be more expensive than others but I do include the Concealed Carry and Home Defense Fundamentals book, an amazing resource and in my opinion a must have for all LTC holders.

Duration: 4-6 hours, 8AM - 2PM

The Concealed Carry and Home Defense Fundamentals book, an excellent resource by the USCCA, is highly recommended.
We will have a quick 20 min lunch break; the facility has a full refrigerator, microwave and toaster oven. We will not have time to leave the facility, so bring food with you.
The class location will be in the midcities area.
The process to receive a LTC is: DPS application, class, qualification (shooting), fingerprinting and background check.
The qualification shooting is either at 1) TDSA (The Defensive Shooting Academy) and the range fee is $25. The address is 1125 Wolf Springs Rd Ferris, TX 75125. We will leave immediately following the classroom training. TDSA is 50 minutes away. it is an outdoor range so dress appropriately for current weather conditions. The range is not paved so we will be on gravel and dirt, closed toe shoes are recommended. You must bring all your own supplies: hearing and eye protection is mandatory and 100 rounds of ammunition, as there is no store on site. or 2) Texas Gun experience 1901 S Main St Grapevine, TX 76051 and the range fee is $25. A limited supply of handguns are available for a $10 rental fee from RG Firearms Training. B-27 targets included.
You must pass the written exam and the proficiency demonstration (50 shot qualification) with a 70% each.
The $25 range fee (cash or check) will be collected prior to our departure for TDSA or TGE.
