Intro to Handguns

This class is designed for those who have never handled a firearm or have

very limited experience. This class will be of benefit to those who do not

feel prepared or unsure of their ability to pass the LTC qualification

shooting.

-We will discuss the differences between semiautomatics and revolvers and

how to safely manipulate several different handguns.

-The fundamentals of shooting will be reviewed, dry firing etc.

-The four building blocks: Grip, Stance, Target alignment and Trigger

control will be demonstrated and practiced.

-The student will be able to handle and shoot a variety of handguns, with

different sights. Several different holsters are available to try as well.

-The many factors involved in choosing the right gun, will be discussed.

-You will be able to ‘try before you buy’ an important component in your handgun purchasing decision.

-Included will be the State of TX shooting proficiency, B27 target and 100 rounds of ammunition.

The USCCA Concealed Carry and Home Defense Fundamentals book is highly recommended.

COST: $95 per student, which includes the use of paper and steel targets, the use of 11 different

handguns, up to 100 rounds of .22 caliber ammunition and bottled water.

$20 range fee is not included.

LOCATION: Training will take place at TDSA (The Defensive Shooting Academy). The

address is 1125 Wolf Springs Rd Ferris, TX 75125.

DURATION: The class is approximately 3 hours not including travel time to TDSA

It is an outdoor range so dress appropriately for current weather conditions. The range is not paved

so we will be on gravel and dirt, closed toe shoes are recommended. There is

no store on site so bring your own water and snacks. Please bring hearing

and eye protection.
